Once at the bottom, you will notice a different structure nearby, head inside and start making your way up. There's bound to be a couple bats or skeletons here, so don't go rushing. Once on the surface you'll be in Vlad's Castle - expect the company multiple Vampires and Vlad itself. You're gonna want to defeat Vlad in order to safely grab that crown. For this, we recommend opening the tombs nearby for that extra handwork. He's gonna be teleporting around, so if you have a couple of extra bombs, make sure to use them. Once he's head, grab the Crown and go all the way back. Survive through Volcana and make haste towards the Temple of Anubis area.A game largely focused on exploration, it only makes sense that some of Spelunky 2's most prominent secrets are related to hidden areas. Some of these secret locations are taken straight from the first game, given new enemies, loot, and even boss fights in some cases, while some of these secret worlds are brand new to the sequel. Regardless of what's in each of the hidden worlds, they all share one key similarity: they're all pretty tricky to reach. One of the more simple hidden areas to reach in the game is the "Black Market." To find this world, players need to grab the Golden Key from world 1-2 or 1-3, and use it on the golden chest that spawns in the same level. This chest should give players the "Eye of Udjat" item which starts to glow when they're near the Black Market's hidden entrance, which is often found in the second, third, or fourth area in the Jungle. Vlad's Castle is also fairly easy to find, with players just needing to activate the drill that can be found in Volcana's second, third, or fourth level, and entering the door that's at the bottom. Upon defeating the boss in this secret location, players are given Vlad's Cape, which grants them double jump and glide abilities.Īt the more difficult to reach end of the scale, Spelunky 2's "Mothership" world is very tricky to find. While the entrance itself simply spawns in the Ice Caves, the player will need both the Alien Compass item and the Jetpack to gain access to the door, the former of which can only be obtained in Vlad's Castle when a Skeleton Key is used to free the Van Horsling NPC. (If you're lucky, you could also perhaps find a hoverpack and hover dangerously close to the bottomless pit and try to bump into the entrance, from what i'm told. There's quite a few more hidden stages in Spelunky 2, like "Madame Tusk's Palace of Pleasure," that requires the player to roll a seven, four times in her dice game, "Abzu," which requires the player to collect the Ankh scattered through Olmec's Lair, and the "City of Gold," that tasks the player with finding both the Hedjet and Scepter from two different worlds, and bringing them to the Temple of Anubis' second stage.Īnother stage, "Duat," can then be accessed by the player by sacrificing themselves atop an altar in the City of Gold, and using the Ankh item to revive themselves. I suppose my information was faulty since few can tell if it's on or past X blocks. Be it carefully via rope or gliding down with a mech. Honestly, never managed to find that damn entrance the oldschool jumpy way. Worked twice for me (first time i was rather confused and accidently left before doing anything of note). Or pray for a Vault (those boxes with a shopkeep in em) near the Mothership so you can get in there (ussually via Mech) and bomb into the Mothership from it. Location of the exit-door doesn't seem to alter where the entrance is, so if you keep at it with one direction it's 33% chance every time. Though if all you want to do is enter the Mothership for lore/characters, then yeah, you could try the last shortcut, and pray one of the spots is the one. (I'm not sure about the exact distances, and if it's PAST 5-6 blocks or ON the fifth/sixth block.) Some say it varies between left, middle and right, with the sides being 5-6 blocks away from the level boundaries. Where exactly that entrance is, is often a mystery and a bit hard to guess.
